Erin Dallas and Ava Yeakel scored eight points apiece on Saturday (March 20) as the Mahomet-Seymour seventh-grade girls’ basketball team opened its season with a 30-19 triumph at Mattoon.
Hannah Creel tallied six points.
On Monday (March 22), M-S suffered a 21-19 loss at Paris Crestwood when the home team scored in the waning seconds.
M-S (1-1) returns to action on Thursday (March 25) in its home-opener against St. Joseph.
