The 2022 Mahomet-Seymour softball team is the first to make it into the final four of the IHSA Class 3A tournament. They were actually the first in the Elite 8 and the first to win 20 in a season.
Hopefully that record will be extended to 27 as the Bulldogs face Chicago St. Ignatius in the 12:30 p.m. IHSA state semifinal game in Peoria today. Should they lose, the third place game will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday. If they win, the championship game will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
In five postseason games, M-S has outscored its opponents, 34-8.
“I’m proud of these girls, the way they battled, fought and supported each other,” Head Coach James Heinold told Fred Kroner.
