Mahomet-Seymour Junior High’s eighth-grade basketball team defeated Mount Zion 51-49 Wednesday to capture the IESA Class 4A Sectional Championship.
Landyn Hannah scored 15 points in the fourth quarter, pulling the Bulldogs to a win in the last minute of regulation. Hannah accumulated 30 points total.
With an 18-6 record, Mahomet-Seymour will meet up with the 21-2 Rockford Eisenhower at Taylorville on Saturday at 10 a.m.
