Athlete of the Week: Blake Wolters
Blake Wolters led the Mahomet-Seymour boys’ basketball team in their season opener over Centennial earlier this week. Wolters finished the game with a team-high 33 points and 10 rebounds. He also led the team in scoring in a 67-66 loss to Belleville West in Lincoln with 22 points. In each game, Wolters hit three three-pointers.

Dr. Daniel Deem to move practice to Christie Clinic in Mahomet
Dr. Daniel Deem is moving his Internal Medicine practice to the Christie Clinic location in Mahomet in December. A Villa Grove native Deem left East Central Illinois to study biochemistry at Illinois College in the western part of the state. In its final pre-Thanksgiving game on Monday (Nov. 22), the eighth-graders rolled past Normal Chiddix at home, 55-19. On Monday (Nov. 15), Parkside prevailed, 36-26.
